Today in Western Civ, we took notes on Ancient Greece. We learned that Greece is a peninsula of mountains. Actually, only 20% of the entire country is good for farming. They had poor and limited natural resources, so they needed to trade. There are approximately 1400 islands in the Adriatic, Lonian, and Aegean Seas. The Greek diet consists of grains, grapes, and olives. Back in Ancient Greece, temperature usually ranged from the mid 40's in the winter and the low 80's in the summer. The Mycenaeans influence began around 2000 BCE. Mycenae was located on a rocky ridge and protected by a 20 foot thick wall.
